Final Grant Deadline March 18th

The extended deadline submission for The Taking Focus BIPOC grant will finally come to a close on March 18th. This photo grant will go to a BIPOC photographer whose work focuses on racial injustice in the United States. As a documentary photographer you may be telling a personal story, you may be telling the story of your community. This is an opportunity to not only share your voice, but an opportunity to be a part of the change. The TF Giving Back Component is what helps make that possible. Never think that your work can not create change. Your work will always have an effect on someone.

3 Million Dollar Baby + News

Please share this video of 2-year-old Joseph Parthemore with others.  We believe social media is an important outlet to funnel such important messages. To Joseph’s family he is known as the three million dollar baby because as of date his medical expenses have surpassed that amount. Recently Blue Cross Blue Shield has dropped coverage for his 24 hour care, leaving Medicaid demanding a $2,800 a month co-pay for a nurse. This is an amount that they simply can not reach, and they are losing their battle against the insurance companies.

Here is Alyssa warming hearts, and making friends so easily.  I remember we decided to go into the hot tub, and I don't even think I had gotten all the way in yet, and she had already made an instant connection with these girls.  These images show her playfulness and sweetness.

I also love this picture of Duane holding Alexxis, we were at a hotel in Daytona Beach celebrating Alexxis's birthday.  I admire this look that I see from Duane all the time.  His love for these girls shows through so much.  This is a look you will so often see, as I do.
